Dear Mischa, Please Keep Doing Whatever You're Doing

Dear Mischa Barton,

When we first saw photos of you opening a new London flagship store called Mischa's Place this morning, we couldn't believe it. It's the best we've seen you look since, well, "The O.C." was on primetime.

We've always had a soft spot for you, and not just because your character Marissa Cooper liked bad boys and was totally rich. (Okay, it's mostly that.) We also like to root for the underdog. Who doesn't want their childhood TV star to shine again?

It is undeniable, however, that there have been a few rough patches for you along the way. (And no, we're not just talking about the time you played a pregnant prostitute named "Sunny" on "Law & Order: SVU.") Your style has suffered over the years. There were those unflattering high-waisted yellow pants, a very visible panty line, an unforgettable bondage-inspired dress, and few ill-advised attempts to rock the hipster look. We'll leave it at that.

Lately, however, your style has been looking up. Yes, there is still a little too much side boob for our liking, and okay, this shirt is too sheer, but overall, you look like yourself again! And best of all: You look healthy!

Maybe you'll score a new TV series (that won't get cancelled) to match your chic look. If not, we're hoping Mischa's Place works out.

Take a peek in our gallery below to see how great Barton looked as she celebrated her store opening with Kate and Pippa's brother, James Middleton, then keep clicking through to read Barton's take on her favorite looks from the past.
