The Best And Worst Looks At the Billboard Music Awards

Best: Zooey Deschanel

Zooey always seems to make the retro 60s look her own, and her Billboard ensemble was no different. The sparkly shift dress paired with her voluminous ponytail was absolute perfection.

Worst: Miley Cyrus

Don't get us wrong: We loved Miley's teased bob and makeup, but the outfit wasn't exactly a hit. Maybe if she had opted for shorts instead of that tiny mini, we'd be singing a different tune.

Best: Carrie Underwood

Some might think Carrie's poufy dress was too much for the Billboard Awards, but we loved the taffeta Oscar de la Renta. The tattered ends and cotton candy colors made it fun and girly, instead of super serious.

Worst: Katy Perry

For whatever reason, Katy Perry just loves matching her latest hair color to matronly gowns. We're not fans of this dropped waist dress on the singer. You're single now, Katy! Dress like it.

Best: Brandy

Brandy looked amazing in this sexy Hervé Léger for Max Azria dress. The curly hair and sultry makeup helped accentuate the hot look.

Worst: Julianne Hough

Bless her heart, she tries, but Julianne Hough's dress looked more like a sparkly towel than a red carpet dress. You'll get it right next year, Jules!

Best: Taylor Swift

Red is definitely Taylor Swift's color, and she proved it in this Elie Saab gown. She made the right choice by keeping her hair and makeup simple, so the dress could do all the talking.

Worst: Kelly Clarkson

After shedding some weight, Kelly Clarkson probably wanted the world to see her new body, but this was the wrong dress to do it in. Instead of showing off her new curves, she just showed off her bad sense of style.

Best: Jordin Sparks

This Diane von Furstenberg couldn't have looked better on Jordin Sparks. If the singer was nervous about her Whitney Houston tribute that night, it didn't show on the red carpet. She simply looked amazing.

Worst: Carly Rae Jepsen

Instead of calling you maybe, we'll just call you tacky. As much as we loved the top, we can't say enough bad things about the tennis shoes and pants.
