The Look We Love: Azealia Banks in the "Van Vogue" Video

I've been following Azealia Banks's movements since her debut track “212” (UNQUESTIONABLY NSFW) found its way into my headphones, early this year. From the jump, I loved her style, a mix of street and chic, and her ever-present huge smile, behind which is the tiniest bit of malice, befitting any hip-hop star worth her salt. Last night she debuted her latest video for the track “Van Vogue." Directed by fashion photographer Rankin, “Van Vogue” shows Banks in a new, ultra-glam light: It’s the weave-iest, lipstick-iest video I’ve seen since the Hype Williams era. (It does, in fact, remind me a little bit of Missy Elliot’s “The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly)”.)

Banks works a number of glamour-puss looks in the video: glossy wine lips, sleek black weave, gold eye shadow, another lip that’s reminiscent of Ciaté's Caviar Manicure, but the extensions long, lustrous, and thick steal the show. In fact, Banks gave her hair supplier, New Jersey-based ONYC Hair, a, effusive shout out last night on Twitter:

"I've tried all the companies out there and @onychairnbeauty has the best hair, HANDS DOWN."

"S/o to @onychairnbeauty !!!! I get ALL my hair from them! LADIES:... This is the BEST hair on the market. MAKE THE SWITCH!!!!"
