What Beauty Ruts Are You Stuck In?

Have you ever envied co-workers whose nails permanently glisten with manicured perfection? Ever had that “I hate you because I want to be you” feeling about friends whose hair has the glossy sheen of a fresh blow-out? I have, and I do. We all struggle with that one beauty roadblock we just can't seem to get around. One of my friends drools over the sky-high heels that could adorn her feet, but she never ventures outside her (admittedly much more comfortable) world of flats. Another adores the shine she gets from a single process, but has only managed to get a total of two. She just never makes the appointment.

My most regrettable, and embarrassing, beauty shortcoming is sleepwear. I’ve seen the clingy, flowy, and unbelievably glamorous nighties Elizabeth Taylor wears in all her boudoir scenes. I’ve watched the perky skincare commercials featuring girls in adorable, no-fuss pajama sets, and I walk by at least one Victoria’s Secret ad everyday. I know exactly how I want to look before I cozy-up under the covers, yet somehow I inevitably end up in an oversized, 16-year-old giveaway shirt that looks like it got caught in a wood chipper. What's keeping me from the elegant sleeping wardrobe of my dreams? I have no idea. Maybe some things are just meant to stay in the realm of fantasy.
